The UGA student chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society will hold “Shaving for a Cure” Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Tate Student Center plaza.
Participants can help raise money for cancer patients and cancer research by shaving their heads in support or donating their hair, getting haircuts, making donations and playing games. Donations can be made at the event or online at http://pages.lightthenight.org/ga/Athens13/thellsclubatuga.
Proceeds go to Light the Night, a 5K in Athens to show support and remembrance for those affected by cancer.
