Sheila McAlister, associate director of the Digital Library of Georgia, received $73,904 from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission through the Atlanta History Center to document the Civil War experience in Georgia. McAlister will oversee digitization of Civil War-era material from the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, the Atlanta History Center and the Georgia Historical Society, including military records, diaries and personal letters.
