Rakesh Singh, professor and head of the department of food science and technology, will be honored as an Institute of Food Technologists Fellow at the group’s annual meeting, which will be held June 28-July 1 in New Orleans. Singh is being honored for research in food engineering, leadership in strengthening the university’s food science program and student mentoring.
The Institute of Food Technologists is a nonprofit scientific society with 22,000 members working in food science, food technology and related professions in industry, academia and government. Election as an IFT Fellow is a unique professional distinction conferred for outstanding contributions in the field of food science and technology.
