State auditors found instances of improper university charge card use totaling more than $150,000 at five Florida public higher education institutions, The Chronicle of Higher Education reported.
Both faculty and staff members at the University of Florida, Florida State University, Florida International University, Florida Atlantic University and the University of South Florida were found to have used institutional credit cards to buy items for personal use. At both UF and FIU, problems stemming from illegal card use have led to criminal charges, the Chronicle reported.
