The State Botanical Garden of Georgia presents the Sunflower Concert Series again this summer.
The concert series will kick off June 14 with Kevn Kinney, formerly with Drivin’ and Cryin’, and Dromedary. Kinney’s style is folk rock with his own warm-hearted, working-class lyrics. Andrew Reissiger and Rob McMaken make up Dromedary. They make music that mixes many cultures, using five-stringed instruments from four countries. They’ll share a few stories of their many travels between songs.
The second concert on July 12 features Tim Easton and Jean Spencer, and Grogus will perform at the final concert on Aug. 9 with Clay Leverett opening.
All concerts are held outdoors in the International Garden and begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 ($10 for members) and $5 for children ages 6-12. Wine, beer and light snacks are included with ticket purchase, but everyone is encouraged to bring a full picnic and blanket. No lawn chairs are allowed.
Tickets sell out quickly and must be purchased in advance (542‑1244). In case of rain, concerts will be held in the conservatory. Tickets are non-refundable.
