Media advisory: Suzanne Yoculan Leebern available to speak at Embark Conference

Athens, Ga. – Suzanne Yoculan Leebern will play a key role in an interactive simulation of the challenges facing homeless and foster children as they pursue higher education during the inaugural Embark Georgia Leadership Conference on Thursday.

She will be available to speak to the media following the simulation.

Embark Georgia is a statewide network, run by the J.W. Fanning Institute of Leadership Development at UGA, that provides resources and leadership training for students who might not have traditional support systems.

A gift of $500,000 in Suzanne Yoculan Leebern’s name was made to Embark last year by Don Leebern Jr., a UGA alumnus and member of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia.

Yoculan Leebern led the Georgia Gym Dogs to 10 national championships before retiring in 2009 after 26 years as head coach. She will return to Georgia gymnastics this summer as a volunteer coach alongside nine-time national champion and Olympic medalist Courtney Kupets Carter, who was named head coach last week.
