The University of Georgia announces 2007 recipients of the George W. Woodruff Honors Scholarship

Athens, Ga. – Five University of Georgia freshmen have been awarded the George W. Woodruff Honors Scholarships for the 2007-2008 academic year.

The scholarship is named after George W. Woodruff, a leading business executive and philanthropist who served on the board of directors for the Coca-Cola Company for 49 years. He was a life-long supporter of education and this scholarship recognizes his commitment to UGA.

The award provides $2,000 per year to incoming Honors students with stellar high school academic records.

Recipients can renew the scholarship for an additional three years of undergraduate study if they maintain certain academic standards of the Honors Program.
