The University of Georgia has once again been ranked number one in advertising research, this time on the international stage.
The latest honor comes courtesy of the International Journal of Advertising. In its fall 2009 issue, the journal ranked UGA tops based on the number of articles published in the top advertising journals including Journal of Advertising, Journal of Advertising Research, Journal of Current Issues and Research in Advertising, International Journal of Advertising and Journal of Marketing Communication.
In 2008, the Journal of Advertising ranked UGA number one in advertising research based on the number of articles published in the top three U.S.-based advertising journals from 1997-2006.
The study examined data on authors’ academic affiliation based on institutions where scholars were employed over a ten-year period (1998-2007).The other top five publishing institutions were Old Dominion University, the University of Texas at Austin, Michigan State University and Northwestern University.
