UGA awards 2008 George W. Woodruff Honors Scholarship

Athens, Ga. – The University of Georgia has awarded the George W. Woodruff Honors Scholarships to incoming freshmen Bre’Anna Brown and William Clark.

Brown, a Banneker High School graduate from College Park, is the daughter of Darrin and Nadine Brown. Clark, a Jefferson County High School graduate from Louisville, is the son of Bill and Kris Clark.

The scholarship is named after George W. Woodruff, a leading business executive and philanthropist who served on the board of directors for the Coca-Cola Company for 49 years. He was a life-long supporter of education and this scholarship recognizes his commitment to UGA.

The award provides $2,000 per year to incoming Honors students with stellar high school academic records.

Recipients can renew the scholarship for an additional three years of undergraduate study if they maintain certain academic standards of the Honors Program.
