Athens, Ga. – A group of University of Georgia incoming freshmen have been awarded the Georgia Incentive Scholarship for the 2011-2012 academic year.
The award provides $1,000 per year in addition to the HOPE Scholarship to undergraduates with stellar academic and extracurricular records from high schools that historically have been underrepresented in sending students to UGA.
The scholarship can be renewed for an additional three years of undergraduate study if the recipients maintain certain academic standards.
