Athens, Ga. – The University of Georgia has awarded The Goizueta Foundation Scholarship to thirteen incoming freshmen for the 2008-2009 academic year.
The award provides $3,000 per year to undergraduates who are fluent in both written and spoken Spanish, have family who currently reside in the United States, and have demonstrated financial need as determined by UGA’s Office of Student Financial Aid.
The scholarship is part of a number of grants The Goizueta Foundation of Atlanta has awarded to UGA for enhancing educational opportunities for Hispanic students in Georgia. UGA’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions awards the scholarships on behalf of The Goizueta Foundation.
The scholarship is renewable for a maximum of three years of undergraduate study if the students maintain certain academic requirements and continue to have demonstrated financial need.
