The U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments this month over an affirmative-action ban passed by voters in Michigan.
One question before the court is whether states can ban the consideration of race in college admissions.
The case could have implications in higher education admissions across the nation.
Similar bans are in place in California, Florida, Arizona, Nebraska, Oklahoma, New Hampshire and Washington.
UGA also bans racial consideration in admissions.
This case comes after the Supreme Court partially ruled in favor of upholding the University of Texas’ use of racial consideration in admissions.
