Visiting scholars

Daniel Balderston, Mellon Professor of Modern Languages at the University of Pittsburgh, will be on campus Nov. 3-7 for a series of lectures.

He will give a Willson Center lecture entitled “Interpellation, Inversion, Identification: Sexual Diversity in Early 20th-Century Latin American Literature” on Nov. 5 at 4 p.m. in room 148 of the Miller Learning Center.

On Nov. 6 at 5 p.m., Balderston and José Quiroga, professor of Spanish and comparative literature at Emory University, will discuss “Issues in Latin American Queer Studies” in room 350K of Gilbert Hall. The discussion is part of the Georgia Workshop on Racial and Gender Configurations in Latin America.
