UGA has now put into effect the text transcoder that will produce text-only versions of all UGA Web pages.
The text transcoder was discussed on this page in the Feb. 21 issue of Columns (www.uga.edu/columns/050221/q&a.html).
All UGA Web pages should now comply with accessibility guidelines. Fortunately, compliance is easily accomplished with this new tool, and the directions can be found on this Web page.
The page designer will add a link for “text only” to the main page of a site, and link it to the URL for the text transcoder. That URL will be http://tt.uga.edu/tt/sitename.uga.edu.
For Columns, for example, the URL is http://tt.uga.edu/tt/columns.uga.edu. The Columns page mentioned above provides an example, with “text only” at the top of the page, linked to the transcoder.
