Athens, Ga. – WUGA 91.7 / 97.9 FM, the University of Georgia’s public radio station, and the UGA Music Business Certificate Program will host a concert on UGA’s Legion Field on Thursday, April 26 at 6 p.m. Local Athens acts, Modern Skirts, the Packway Handle Band and Hope for Agoldensummer are scheduled to appear.
Although all of the acts make frequent appearances in Athens, this concert will be different than most of the shows that they do. “The biggest difference is that this will be a daytime show and an outdoors show,” JoJo Glidewell, a member of the Modern Skirts, said. Glidewell said he thinks this show will have a different dynamic from the late-night club shows they play downtown.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at Wuxtry Records (197 E. Clayton Street), online at www.wuga.org or by calling 706/542-9842. A portion of the proceeds will benefit WUGA and the Music Business Certificate Program.
Legion Field is located on the UGA campus across from the Tate Student Center on Lumpkin Street.
