Finalists named for senior vice president for external affairs at UGA

Athens, Ga. – Four finalists have been chosen for the position of senior vice president for external affairs at the University of Georgia and the candidates will begin visiting the university for interviews next week.

The finalists were announced today by Tim Burgess, senior vice president for finance and administration and chair of a committee that conducted a national search to fill the position. They are:

-Thomas W. Jennings, senior development officer for special projects at the University of Virginia. He also has been associate dean for development in UVA’s College and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and was director of university development at Washington and Lee University.

-Thomas S. Landrum, interim senior vice president for external affairs at UGA. Landrum became interim vice president Jan. 1 when Steve Wrigley left the post to become director of the Carl Vinson Institute of Government and vice president for government relations. Landrum has worked at UGA since 1976 and has been director of public relations, executive assistant to the vice president for development and university relations, assistant to former President Charles Knapp and executive assistant to current President Michael F. Adams.

-Virgil Renzulli, vice president for public affairs at Arizona State University. He also has been associate vice president for public affairs at Columbia University and assistant vice president for public affairs at New York University.

-Eloise D. Stuhr, associate vice chancellor for university development and alumni relations at Vanderbilt University. Stuhr previously worked at The Pennsylvania State University where she was executive director of leadership gifts and executive director of university development.

As part of their campus visits, the candidates will participate in a forum with UGA deans that will be open to the public. The dates, times and locations of the forums are:

Landrum: Dec. 6, 10:30 a.m., Walker Room, Rusk Hall

Jennings: Dec. 7, 10:30 a.m., rooms F/G, Georgia Center for Continuing Education

Stuhr: Dec. 11, 10:30 a.m., rooms F/G, Georgia Center for Continuing Education

Renzulli: Dec. 12, 11 a.m., rooms F/G, Georgia Center for Continuing Education
