UGA Grady College presents “An Evening with Hadjii”

Athens, Ga. – The Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication will present “An Evening with Hadjii from Black Entertainment Television’s Somebodies,” Tuesday,, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. in the North Psychology-Journalism Auditorium on the University of Georgia Campus.

Grady College alumnus, Hadjii, (ABJ ’98) will discuss his current project, Somebodies, BET’s first scripted comedy series. The series, which the Associated Press calls “one of the five new fall shows you shouldn’t miss,” was filmed in Athens and tells the story of Scottie, a laid-back college student trying to make sense of the world, and the offbeat friends and family around him.

An episode of the series will be shown, followed by a discussion with Hadjii and Grady College professor and producer of the series, Nate Kohn. Questions will be taken from the audience.

Copies of Hadjii’s book, Don’t Let My Mama Read This, will be available for purchase and signing following the program.

Hadjii will talk with students about getting started in writing, producing and directing feature films and cable network television shows in Room 248 of the Miller Learning Center at 4 p.m.

The event is co-sponsored by the Grady College chapters of the National Association of Black Journalists and Di Gamma Kappa.

Established in 1915, the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication offers seven undergraduate majors including advertising, broadcast news, magazines, newspapers, public relations, publication management and telecommunication arts.
