The Yale University Art Gallery has received an $11 million pledge from an alumnus to support the creation of new exhibition galleries as part of the museum’s current renovation and expansion, the university reported.
The donation, courtesy of Stephen D. Susman, a member of the Yale College Class of 1962, will go toward creating new galleries on the just-finished fourth floor of the Old Yale Art Gallery and will be dedicated to rotating special exhibitions. The new galleries will be open to the public in December, according to the university.
