The Office of Service-Learning is now accepting applications for the 2021-22 Service-Learning Fellows program. Applications are due Friday, April 30.
This yearlong faculty development program provides an opportunity for participating faculty to explore best practices in service-learning and community engagement while developing new service-learning courses or considering ways to integrate service-learning into existing courses or programs. Application materials and details are available at http://servicelearning.uga.edu/service-learning-fellows-program/.
Faculty members selected for participation will receive a $2,500 faculty development award. UGA faculty members in any career track with an interest in service-learning are eligible to apply; previous experience with service-learning is not required. Service-learning is an experiential learning method that provides opportunities for students to apply and more fully understand academic knowledge through course activities that address genuine community needs and benefit the public good.
For questions related to application, please contact Paul Matthews, associate director of the Office of Service-Learning, at pmatthews@uga.edu or 706-542-0892.
The Office of Service-Learning is jointly supported by the Office of Instruction and the Office of the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach.
