Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder announced that $50 million in grants will be awarded to 18 community colleges across the state.
The awarded grants will come from the Community College Skilled Trades Equipment Program, which is an effort to help meet a demand for good-paying jobs.
The grant program was created to provide funding that enables Michigan’s community colleges to purchase equipment needed for education programs that have high-wage, high-skill and high-demand occupations such as welding, health care and robotics.
