Audrey King, senior vice president of corporate responsibility for Georgia Power and president and chief executive officer of The Georgia Power Foundation, will present the 2026 Holmes-Hunter Lecture on Monday, Feb. 23, at 2 p.m. in the University of Georgia Chapel.
Named in honor of Charlayne Hunter-Gault and Hamilton Holmes Sr., the first Black students to attend the University of Georgia, the lecture is sponsored by the Office of the President and has been held annually since 1985.
In her role at Georgia Power, King leads and directs the company’s efforts to advance corporate responsibility, philanthropic and community engagement and volunteerism initiatives across the state, with a focus on education, the environment and empowering Georgia communities.
Prior to assuming her current role in April 2025, King served as senior vice president of region external affairs for Georgia Power. In this role she led the company’s external activities across the state by providing leadership and support to region executives, engaging in strategic planning and workforce initiatives and building key stakeholder relationships.
Previously, King served as South Region vice president for Georgia Power, with direct responsibility for the company’s external activities for customers across a 62-county area that included Savannah, Valdosta and Albany. Over her 35-year career at Georgia Power she has held various positions in customer service, sales, distribution and external affairs.
In the community, King has served on boards for the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce, Union Mission Inc., Savannah Technical College, Georgia Southern University Housing Foundation, Savannah Rotary Club and the advisory board for BankSouth. Her additional service includes roles with the United Way Executive Board, Homebuilders Association, past president of the Valdosta North Rotary Club and past president and honorary commander for Moody Air Force Base. King also served on the State Housing Trust Fund for the Homeless and was Department of Community Affairs board chair.
King is a graduate of Leadership Lowndes, Leadership Savannah and Leadership Georgia, and she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Troy University.
Originally from Macon, Georgia, King now resides in Fayetteville, Georgia, with her family. She is passionate about education and developing future leaders.
