Writing Intensive Program call for department and course proposals

The Franklin College of Arts and Sciences’ Writing Intensive Program invites proposals from faculty and departments across disciplines for innovative undergraduate courses that encourage writing.

Programs and faculty accepted to WIP will be awarded trained teaching assistants qualified to assign and respond to writing in the disciplines. The call for proposals and submission forms are available online.

The Franklin College Writing Intensive Program aims to enhance undergraduate education by emphasizing the importance of writing in the disciplines. WIP supports writing-intensive courses and writing-enriched curricula throughout the college — from music to geology and biology to anthropology. Faculty members who teach WIP courses are supported by a WIP teaching assistant, who is specially trained in writing-in-the-disciplines pedagogy.

Please visit the program’s website or email Lindsey Harding (lharding@uga.edu) for more information.

Proposals will be accepted through March 18.
