Athens, Ga. – The 2015 Georgia Economic Outlook, hosted by the University of Georgia Terry College of Business, will take place Dec. 12 at noon at the Marriott Marquis in Atlanta.
Benjamin C. Ayers, dean of the Terry College, will deliver the Georgia economic forecast. The former head of the college’s J.M. School of Accounting, Ayers holds the Earl Davis Chair in Taxation.
Douglas P. Handler, chief North American economist for IHS, will deliver the national forecast. UGA President Jere W. Morehead will emcee.
Based on research from the college’s Selig Center for Economic Growth, the Georgia Economic Outlook is the state’s premier forecasting event. It provides a timely and accurate measure of the trends shaping the state’s financial future.
Ayers’ remarks will include a candid portrait of one of Georgia’s biggest competitive challenges, an analysis of which industries will benefit the most in 2015 and several ideas to ramp up development.
Following the Atlanta kickoff, the Economic Outlook series goes on tour around the state, with events in Savannah (Jan. 14), Augusta (Jan. 15), Athens (Jan. 21), Jekyll Island (Jan. 28), Swainsboro (Jan. 30), Albany (Feb. 5), Dalton (Feb. 10), Macon (Feb. 12) and Columbus (Feb. 13).
