UGA law professor Walter Hellerstein, an expert on the state taxation of interstate commerce, is quoted in a New York Times article about ways to avoid paying sales taxes when purchasing recreational vehicles. Montana’s law is perfectly legal, said Hellerstein. “It’s not fraud to play whatever games the law allows you.”
