Miss Georgia, Monica Pang, came a rhinestone away from winning the Miss America crown earlier this month in Las Vegas.
The 2003 Miss University of Georgia placed second in competition, netting a $20,000 scholarship she plans to use to further her education in the music industry.
For the talent portion of the event, Pang played a rendition of Chopin’s Polonaise in G Sharp Minor.
An Atlanta resident, Pang grew up in South Carolina and moved to attend college here. She earned a degree in consumer journalism from UGA.
