The deadline to apply for Rotary Grants for University Teachers is Aug. 1. The grants provide funds to higher education faculty to travel abroad to teach at colleges and universities in developing countries. The subjects taught by grant recipients must be relevant to the needs of the local population and contribute to the area’s socio-economic development. Grants are available for $12,500 for three to five months of teaching service or for $22,500 for six to 10 months of teaching service.
Interviews for prospective grant recipients is Sept. 23 at Reinhardt College. Application information can be found at rotary.org/foundation/educational/un_teach/applicant/index.html or contact Helen Mills (549-2399; m.mills@charter.net) for information.
