Rhett Jackson, associate professor of hydrology at UGA, is quoted in a U.S. News and World Report story about the drought and its effects on Georgia, Florida and Alabama, which continue to struggle with one another for more water. “This is a situation where we have had a real failure in all three of these states and the federal government,” Jackson said. “They’ve been letting this sit for more than a decade.”
