The UGA Performing Arts Center presents the Israel Chamber Orchestra on Feb. 17 at 7:30 p.m. in Hodgson Concert Hall. Gil Shohat, music director, will conduct the orchestra with guest violinist David Garrett in a program featuring Shohat’s own Symphony No. 3, Symphony of Fire, along with Felix Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto, Yehezkel Braun’s Serenade No. 2, Pablo de Sarasate’s Zigeunerweisen and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7. Tickets are $25 and $30; they are half-price for UGA students.
A pre-concert lecture will be given by Bret Pimentel, a music student at UGA, 45 minutes prior to the concert. The lecture is free and open to the public.
