The university’s Office of Sustainability and Go Green Alliance will sponsor Campus Sustainability Day on Oct. 20 at the Tate Student Center and UGA Bookstore.
Planned activities include a fair from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on the lawn of the Tate Student Center.
Information tables will promote student-focused organizations and their sustainability initiatives. A car-free registration and bike tune-up will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on the Tate Center lawn.
Free tune-ups will be provided for those who arrive by bicycle; everyone who completes a car-free commute to campus can log their mileage at the Office of Sustainability for a chance to win a prize.
From 12:30-1 p.m., an update on campus sustainability will be take place in Room 480 of the Tate Student Center. After the update, a drop-in forum will be held in the same location until 2 p.m.
The forum will be a brainstorming session on current and future sustainability initiatives. In addition to these activities, the UGA Bookstore will offer a discount on several sustainability-related products throughout the day.
