The 2011 Computer Health and Security Fair will be held April 20 from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. in the second floor lobby of the Miller Learning Center.
TEC Services, a unit within the Office of Research Services, will be on site along with EITS consultants and technicians to provide a security checkup for the laptop computers of UGA students, faculty and staff. The security checkup includes virus scans and software updates, spyware removal and more. Requests will be prioritized on a first-come, first-served basis.
Security professionals also will be on hand to provide information about the dangers of phishing attacks and how to protect against these and other identity theft attempts.
The fair is intended to assist individuals with personally owned computers. Consult departmental IT professionals before bringing a work computer to the fair.
