In conjunction with National Preparedness Month, a campus-wide test of UGAAlert, the university’s mass emergency notification system, is scheduled for Sept. 20 at 10:45 a.m.
During the test, the phone number reflected on caller ID will be 706-542-0111. Those with caller ID are encouraged to program this number into their cell phone so it will display as a UGAAlert emergency call in the future. The phone number 23177 will show up in caller ID for SMS text messages from UGAAlert. The new UGAAlert Desktop program also will be tested at that time.
UGAAlert is used to send messages to the UGA community when immediate action is needed due to life threatening emergencies.
