Living Well workshops

A series of free, health-related workshops will be held in Room 216 Barrow Hall beginning Sept. 21 at 5:30 p.m. The six-week workshops are designed to help people with ongoing health conditions such as arthritis, obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, fibromyalgia, anxiety and depression. These workshops are open to those with chronic conditions, their family members, friends or caregivers. The workshops are designed to teach participants how to manage the medical conditions; cope with negative feelings related to the conditions; communicate better with doctors; learn what to do to help those with the conditions; and have fun sharing with a positive, supportive group.

For more information, contact Katie Porter, a registered dietitian and Ph.D. student in foods and nutrition in the College of Family and Consumer Sciences, who will be teaching the course, at 706-542-4838 or kporter714@gmail.com.
