A new on-campus professional organization for meeting and event planners will be introduced by the Georgia Center for Continuing Education Conference Center and Hotel on Nov. 10. The inaugural luncheon and meeting for the Georgia Center Alliance of Meeting Planners will be held at the Georgia Center from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
GCAMP will bring together meeting, conference and event planners from across campus for networking and professional development.
“Our goal in creating GCAMP is to offer members a unique opportunity to enhance their professional skills, network with peers and learn best practices,” said Kim Rogers, who heads the sales department at the Georgia Center.
GCAMP meeting topics will range from event design, technology and site selection to budgeting, contracts and liability issues. The group is scheduled to meet quarterly and membership is open to all staff and faculty who count meeting and event planning among their responsibilities.
