CIting fiscal constraints amid the current economic climate, UGA President Michael F. Adams has withdrawn a request to close Legion Pool. In an Oct. 17 memo to Chancellor Hank Huckaby, Adams said he will be leaving the issue up to his successor.
This July, UGA had proposed closing Legion Pool due to the extensive costs of repqiring the 1935 facility and instead building a $2.6 million 6,000-square-foot outdoor pool at Lake Herrick, near the intramural fields.
