Volunteers are needed for the Stadion Classic at UGA, the area’s only professional golf event, at the UGA Golf Course from April 29 to May 5. The event requires more than 500 volunteers. All profits from the event will support need-based scholarships for UGA students. In addition, local nonprofit beneficiaries will receive 100 percent of revenue from all ticket sales through the Stadion Classic at UGA Tickets Fore Charity program.
Athens Regional Health System has agreed to help offset some of the volunteer expenses. Still, volunteers are charged a nominal fee to help defray some of the volunteer-related costs.
The following volunteer packages are available: general volunteer: $35 plus tax; and full-time student volunteer: $25 plus tax.
Volunteers will receive an official tournament golf shirt, one official tournament golf cap, two weekly tournament passes and one round of golf with cart at UGA Golf Course, which requires a minimum of two shifts worked and can be redeemed anytime. Meals are provided while on duty.
