The Lamar Dodd School of Art presents its second group of BFA Exit Shows with work by students completing their bachelor of fine arts degrees in studio arts with concentrations in drawing and painting, ceramics, jewelry and metal, and Art X: expanded forms. Artwork will be exhibited throughout the school in Gallery 101, Gallery 307 and the Orbit Galleries from April 26 to May 2. The opening reception for the exhibition on April 26 from 7-9 p.m. is free and open to the public.
BFA candidates in drawing and painting investigate various types of media including charcoal, pastel, colored pencil, graphite, aqueous media, oil and acrylic paint.
Jewelry and metals BFA candidates develop an understanding and competency of the various techniques associated with metalsmithing.
BFA candidates in ceramics demonstrate a working knowledge of the techniques of the ceramic process including clay and glaze formulation, kiln building and firing, throwing on the potter’s wheel and numerous methods of hand forming.
Candidates in Art X: expanded forms are asked to consider historical developments, critical ideas and current practices related to time-based art.
