National Home Movie Day 2013 will be celebrated locally Oct. 19 from 2-4 p.m. at the Richard B. Russell Building Special Collections Libraries. Sponsored by the UGA Libraries’ Walter J. Brown Media Archives and Peabody Awards Collection, the event will explore how home movies have helped capture personal history. It is open free to the public.
Held annually in October, National Home Movie Day is a worldwide celebration of amateur films and film making. Attendees are encouraged to bring films, videotapes and DVDs for inspection and screening when possible.
