The College of Pharmacy will offer a free, six-week smoking cessation clinic to UGA employees and members of the Athens community. Classes will be conducted by third-year pharmacy students under the direction of Dee Dee McEwen, Kay Brooks and Ashley Hannings, faculty members in the college’s Division of Experience Programs.
The clinic is limited to 20 participants so advance registration is recommended. The classes, which begin Jan. 14, will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the UGA Training and Development building, 315 S. Thomas St.
Adapted from Pfizer’s “Beat the Pack” smoking cessation program, the clinic will consist of six consecutive weeks of smoking cessation classes with trained students conducting individual and group counseling sessions.
