ABC News spoke with UGA’s Ron Carlson after some former Atlanta educators convicted in a test cheating scandal were jailed in early April.
The 11 educators were convicted of racketeering for their part in a plan to inflate students’ test scores on standardized exams.
“This is a huge story and absolutely the biggest development in American education law since forever,” said Carlson, holder of the Fuller E. Callaway Chair of Law Emeritus at the School of Law. “It has to send a message to educators here and broadly across the nation. Playing with student test scores is a very, very dangerous business.”
