In recognition of the longstanding presence of Homeric epic at UGA, the classics department in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences is sponsoring “Homerathon,” a two-day reading of Homer’s Odyssey, April 4-5 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. outside the main library. UGA students, professors, administrators and local community leaders will collaborate to read the entire 14,000-line poem in translation.
