Center for Teaching and Learning offering new courses, workshops for fall semester

UGA’s Center for Teaching and Learning offers ongoing workshops throughout the year that contribute to the development of the scholarship of teaching and learning for faculty and graduate teaching assistants. Workshops include everything from using technology in the classroom to First-Year Odyssey course development and sessions covering pedagogy, research and mentoring first-year students.

The CTL also offers several programs centered on transforming teaching at UGA from several Fellows programs to individual, formative evaluations and customizable, group-based workshops.

In addition, the CTL has a new studio available to faculty, instructors and graduate teaching assistants for creating videos for online instruction, documenting small-group discussions, recording presentations, theses or dissertation defenses, practicing presentation skills and a variety of other uses. The One Button Studio, which also includes a green/blue screen for creating visual effects, is a great tool to create engaging content for students. The One Button Studio is a simplified video recording setup that can be used without any previous video production experience. The design of the studio allows users to create high-quality and polished video projects without having to know anything about lights and cameras.
