Athens, Ga. – The University of Georgia College of Pharmacy is celebrating American Pharmacists Month with the 6th annual Dawgtoberfest: Rx for Good Health on Wednesday, Oct.15, from 12 – 3 p.m. The event will be an afternoon of health promotion and relaxation on Herty Field on UGA’s North Campus. Sponsored by Walgreens, Dawgtoberfest will include health screenings, free food and free t-shirts to all attendees.
Free flu shots will be given to the first 300 UGA students, faculty and staff presenting their UGA ID card. Free body fat analysis, diabetes assessments and blood pressure checks also will be available.
Student health groups across campus will provide information on hypertension, asthma, breast cancer, diabetes, fad diets, immunizations, sexually transmitted diseases, women’s health topics, pediatric health topics and heartburn.
Dawgtoberfest is open to university students, faculty, staff and families in the Athens community. All are invited to bring a blanket, relax and enjoy the festivities on Herty Field.
Herty field is located on North Campus between the law library annex and the Chapel. Parking is conveniently located in the North Campus parking deck.
