Activities fair encourages student involvement in clubs and organizations

Athens, Ga. – The University of Georgia Center for Student Organizations will hold its Winter Activities Fair on Jan. 21 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Grand Hall and Atrium of the Tate Student Center. The fair is designed to encourage students to become involved in campus clubs and organizations.

Nearly 200 of the university’s registered student organizations will staff booths at the fair in order to provide information and recruit new members. Admission is free and the fair is open to students, faculty, staff and members of the Athens community.

“This year’s fair will be bigger than it has ever been before-taking place on multiple floors of Tate,” said Joshua Podvin, senior coordinator for the Center for Student Organizations.

Podvin said students who are actively involved in campus organizations find their experiences at the university to be more satisfying and successful.

“This is one of the best ways for students looking to get involved to find the opportunity that best suits their interests,” he said.

The Center for Student Organizations is a unit within UGA’s Division of Student Affairs.
