Lisa DuPree McNair, a UGA alumna who is on the faculty at Virginia Tech, will open the Center for Teaching and Learning’s new Spring Speaker series with a lecture on Feb. 14 at 3 p.m. in the auditorium of the Driftmier Engineering Center. The lecture, “The Importance of Bridges: Creating Interdisciplinary Pathways in Teaching and Research,” is open free to the public. It will be followed by a reception.
“This series is designed to provide opportunities for those who teach at UGA to engage in discussions about their classroom practice,” said Eddie Watson, director of the UGA Center for Teaching and Learning.
An associate professor of engineering education at Virginia Tech, McNair also serves as assistant department head of graduate education and co-director of the VT Engineering Communication Center.
The speaker series is co-sponsored by the College of Engineering and the Willson Center for Humanities and Arts.
