Amitabh Verma, an assistant professor in the School of Environmental Design, received an award for Excellence in Research and Creative Works at the 2010 conference of the Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture held recently in Maastricht, Netherlands. The award recognizes the international reach and rapid advancement of Verma’s research, especially on the complex problems facing large and fast-growing cities. The research highlighted in the nomination letter included work on living conditions, urban water management and preservation of sacred historical sites.
