Anne Charlotte Merrell Wetterwik, a senior research associate with the Center for International Trade and Security, received $374,746 from the Department of State to provide expertise on secure trade control of weapons and dual-use goods and technologies flowing through Morocco. Wetterwik and a team from CITS will work with the U.S. Office of Export Control Cooperation to assist Moroccan colleagues in drafting legislation to develop trade control systems that meet international standards and help the north African nation improve its ability to detect and prevent illicit transfers of conventional arms and weapons of mass destruction.
