Athens, Ga. — The executive committees of the University of Georgia Foundation and the Arch Foundation for the University of Georgia announced today that they have agreed to merge into a single cooperative entity. Pending approval of both boards of trustees, the organization will operate as the University of Georgia Foundation with a primary focus on supporting the University of Georgia’s academic mission.
A letter from Arch Foundation Chairman Jack Head and UGA Foundation Chairman Sam Holmes was sent to UGA President Michael F. Adams. It provides details on how the merger proposal came to fruition and how the combined organization will be structured, and includes a list of key points of agreement.
The chairs of both foundations received a letter from President Adams.
