Harvard Medical School plans to open a new primary care facility and hire an additional 20-30 faculty members, The Chronicle of Higher Education reported.
The university’s plans come thanks to an anonymous $30 million gift, officials said. Money from the donation also will be used to expand the institution’s primary-care curriculum, test new models of health care service and raise the status and working conditions of primary-care doctors, who are underrepresented in medicine. The center is slated to open within a few months, the Chronicle reported
