Howard C. Ansel, a former dean for the College of Pharmacy, received an honorary doctoral degree from the University of Toledo, one of his alma maters, during its spring Commencement in May.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Ansel received a bachelor of science degree in pharmacy from the University of Toledo in 1955, graduating with honors. He joined the UGA faculty in 1962 and rose through the ranks to become dean in 1977. Ansel returned to the faculty in 1991 and became the college’s inaugural Panoz Professor of Pharmacy.
