Archie B. Carroll, the Scherer Professor Emeritus of Management in the Terry College of Business, received the first Lifetime Achievement Award in Corporate Social Responsibility from the Institute of Management at Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany.
The award was presented at a ceremony during the institute’s fifth international conference on corporate social responsibility. More than 500 participants watched as Sandra Waddock, a faculty member at Boston College, gave a 20-minute presentation on Carroll’s 40 years of research and contributions to the field.
Following the presentation, Carroll delivered a 40-minute address titled “A CSR Journey: Looking Back, Looking Forward.”
